I have an 05 and was wondering if there is any way to cure a problem Im experiencing.

On a long trip, I have a problem with sciatic nerve after more than a couple of hours driving.

I didnt experience this with my old truck.

Iv tried a soft pillow or a cushion behind my back but with little success.

Is there anything else I could try to eliminate this problem. ?

Thanks.

The very Questionable Quality seats.

I have a 99 and started having problems with the tendon in the back of my right leg at the 30,000 km's ( I was 210 lbs at that time) and soon found out the the seat was sagged out. Just out of warranty. The extra padding that a upholstery shop lasted some months. They said bring it in and thet would look at it. When they looked at it, they said to get a new seat and they would fix it from new. Lets see now. $1400. 00 for a new seat every YEAR and the cost of the change. THIS IS too expensive for me!!! I worked for a different contractor the other year and the new 06 Do_G_ they gave me for work. The seat with less then 1000 km's on it also pulled my right tendon . So, as for the Cry-slurrr quality, nothing has improved in 7 years. Go figure, guess that's why I have a gutless wonder since new.

This what I did

I have a similer problem, rebuilt the seat as was featured in the TDR acouple years ago, helped a little. Then I started to removed my wallet from my back pocket and this seemed to help, to remove the pain from my back side.

Good luck with your pain.

Seat Repair

I have a 2004 and just returned from a 5,400 mile trip a while back. It got to the point that on long stretches of the trip, when we stopped I couldn't walk until I kind of worked out the kinks. I wound up taking both front seats out and adding a bit of padding ($5 pad from Home Depot designed for outdoor furniture) under each front seat. I have since take a 500 mile run with it, and it makes all the difference. I can walk and don't have the "dead leg" feeling on the right, plus my knee doesn't "twinge" anymore after a bit of time in the seat. The repair is fairly simple--two bolts in the front and two in the rear. Take the 4 nuts off, unplug the power seat and the heated seat connectors, then lift it out and turn it over. Its fairly obvious where the padding should go--just take the fabric clips off and that will give you access. Now that I know what to do, you can take a seat out, have it repaired and back in in 30 minutes. Its a very similar process from the previously posted thread on the 99 seats (I did the same thing to my previous 99). Well worth the minimal time and effort.

Try sitting as close to the wheel as you can and still work the pedals easily. That changes the way you sit. Since I started doing that I'm not nearly as tired and sore when I get where I'm going.

Seat questions.

I have never put my wallet in my back pocket for the 31 plus years of driving. Having to go to the chiropractor for slightly longer then I have been driving. Just something one has to think about before one does it.
