Does anybody know how to disable this super-annoying chime on our '05 work truck? I didn't find much luck in the search forum... .

Owners manuel will give you the steps, if you don't have the manuel I'm sure your D/C dealer can show you. I've done it to my 04. 5 and 07.

I read it a week ago. I think you buckle up, turn the key to on position. Then within 10 seconds, unbuckle and rebuckle 3 times. On the third rebuckle you should hear a chime indicating a change or if not, turn off key, then back on. When you unbuckle, it should no longer chime. Best to read the manual.

stand up, sit down, turn yourself around, LOL, I just plug my center belt into the driver receptacle.

yeah i agree. just plug the center in yours and enjoy. i know i should really wear it, but i cant stand not being able to move at all

You know I'm the same way I can't stand to wear it. But working on a ranch If i put a seat belt on every time I go in to the field? Or I have dirty hands and have to grab that thing. Then when you go out you have a dirty seat belt.

I wear my seatbelt everytime, no problem there. Its the stupid door open and key in the ignition buzzers that drive me batty.

I had to do both, I stuck a little jumper wire in the plug for the seatbelt sensor, all it does is short it out and trick to think it's plugged in. For the annoying door chime, that is a sensor that is built into the door latch, I downloaded the wiring diagram from the dodge upfitter support website and figured out which wire is for that, I popped the door panel and cut one wire and no more annoying door chime, but the dome light doesn't turn on when you open the door either.

Where's the buzzer? You could just unhook it. That way, you could still have dome lights, but you wouldn't have the chime.

On my '06 I went the jumper route. Somewhere on this forum I read that a simple female spade connector is the perfect fit for the seatbelt sensor pins. You just look down at the driver's seat belt buckle, and locate the wire connector down low. Unplug the connector, and then stick a female spade on the two exposed pins and you'll never have another problem. It's completely reversible and no soldering required. Took me about 5 minutes, a flashlight, and some longnose pliers.

The first thing I wanted to do was just clip the wire for the buzzer, or find the buzzer and smash it with a hammer, but I looked high and low and could not find it or decipher the wiring diagram to see which wire would cut it's voltage. As far as I could tell it is actually inside the instrument cluster which looked very hard to remove let alone open up and get the buzzer, and I have already had the whole dash apart install stereo stuff and running wires.

I stripped about a half inch of scrap wire and cut off the bare copper pieces and put it in the plug for the seatbelt connector. Snapped it together and the annoying buzzer is gone.

I wear my seat belt on the road, but starting up and getting the mail, closing gate, etc. kept me from buckling right away. It's a mile before I'm on a real road.
