As alot of you probably know, in the 2006 Mega Cabs the damn seatbelt buzzer will not shut up until you put your seatbelt on. When i went and test drove one before I ordered mine, it about drove me crazy. Of course I wear a seatbelt but not everytime I move my truck! When my new one comes in in a couple weeks, i want to know if I can somehow disconnect the seatbelt buzzer. I know on some of the 2nd generation trucks it did not ding all the time. Just wondering if this was possible or if anyone had done this.

On mine, I was able to turn the buzzer off by following instructions given in the owners manual. Not sure if you can do it on the newer trucks. May need some advice from your dealer when you pick up the truck.

Buzzer

Alright, I was hoping that it was something simple like that. That makes me feel alot better cause I cant stand that darn thing. Thanks alot guys. I love this forum stuff. You have a question and ask it and in 5 minutes you have an answer.

the TDR is a Dodge/Cummins owners best friend. I have to tell my buddy to check his owner's manual because he complains about the same thing. Nice on my 05, I just plug the center buckle in but I guess now the changed the latch so there different

I don't know if the newer models are the same, but on my '03, I unplugged the harness under the driver seat nearest the console and plugged in a short jumper wire to the connector coming up from the floor board. A short jumper wire with crimp-on spade lugs on both ends fit perfectly. Any time you want, the system can be restored by removing the jumper and re-connecting the OE harness.

The chime sounds one time when I start the truck and no red light on the dash. :D

Here are the instructions for the 03-05's, don't know if it will work on an 06.

Seat belt chime is as follows:

1. Get in vehicle and close door.

2. Buckle up.

3. Turn key on

4. within 30 seconds(?) unbuckle and buckle three times within 10 seconds - the third buckle up leaving it buckled...

5. Turn key off, just 1 chime should be heard now when not driving safe.

note: when turning off the key a single chime should be heard meaning job well done! You fixed it again...

This does not disable the seatbelt light but does disable the chime
