Seatbelt chime and light

How do I disable the seatbelt chime and warning light?

Fasten the seat belt, sorry couldn't help it. This seems to come up periodically, someone will come along with an answer.

If memory serves me correctly, you get in driver's seat and buckle the belt with the motor off. Then turn the key to 'on', but don't start the engine. With the key 'on', you unbuckle and re-buckle the belt 3 times within 10 seconds, leaving the belt buckled. then turn the key off. When you go to start the engine, there should be a chime that indicates you've disabled the belt chime. The red seat belt light will always be on though, unless the belt is buckled.

Yep, that's what I did the first day I bought mine. No seatbelt light on mine though. Maybe the first couple minutes, but then goes off.
