I have been driving my dads 04 for a couple of days now and the seatbelt warning light is driving me crazy. I don't need my seatbelt on driving through the fields, oviously the truck thinks differently. Is there anyway to disable it?

And I want to get his truck reflashed because of the horrible gas milage he gets. Is there a specific flash that needs to be done or just the latest update?

Thanks for the help, Daniel

From what I have read, you can short out the wires in the seat belt connector and it will kill both the audio alarm and the lousy light. I don't use mine around the farm either and I hate the light.

The seatbelt warning light cannot be turned off, but the tone can. I assume that you have already done that.

See http://www.klenger.net/dodge/3rd-gen-reference/tsb-18-037-04_pg1.pdf for the milage TSB. Note that it only applies to the 600's and not the 555. Not sure which you dad has from your description. Good luck.

Where do you adjust the volume? And I think my dads truck is a 555 because he bought it in November of 03. Will other reflashes help any?

Thanks Daniel

The owner's manual has instructions for turning off the seat belt alarm, along with settings for several other systems.

seatbelt killer

You can use a yellow 12-14 gauge female wire connector to stop the chime. Unplug the seatbelt connection under the seat and simply slip the connector over the two prongs, saves cutting and splicing the wires together.
