2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission seatbelt light stuck on

i have a 98. 5 3500. this evening the seat belt light came on and will not go off no matter what. can anybody helpwith this problem thanks a lot.

Is this a quad cab, club cab or regular cab? I've got an idea if its a 24V quad cab... SCTM/ACM fault... there is an easy test for this problem. Otherwise if your belt retractors are B-post mounted its probably just the sensor that "knows" when you reel out the belt. It could be malfunctioning and not sensing you putting the belt on. You do put it on... right?

This has happened to my 99QC4WD two or three times. . What I do is unplug harness under driver seat and spray both sides with electronic, greasless contact cleaner and it usually goes away... hope this helps. Steve in Ca.
