Did a thread search on subject but no luck. My 99 2500 since day 1 has intermittantly had the seatbelt warning light come on and stay on. truck has 125k and when it does it (after checking all seatbelt snaps and anything else I can think of) it goes out when it feels like it. Sometimes it is a day or so or it may take a week. Any Ideas on how to correct problem or disable the light? Is it a weight on the seat thing or what? I know this is a minor thing but it drives me nuts. . (black tape on light spot helped)... . Steve in N. Ca.

Steve,

Check the electric connections under the seat, one of them may be loose, or even corroded. Possibly even an intemittent short.

ok now...

jboehm: Thx for tip it worked for now. Dont know what I did but just wiggled and pulled and twisted on every wire connector under the seat... I dont allow any liquids in my truck so dont know if moisture involved or just plain lousy wire routing by the manufacturer. Steve

Mine does it too. Just when it starts to bug me it goes out so I havent tried to fix it yet. I also have a 99.

The problem is in the contact in the buckle. Luckily, mine is under warranty, it has been replaced twice. It was one thing Greenbrier Dodge did right.

My '99 was doing the same thing about two years ago. I pulled the plug under the driver's seat apart and put some dielectric (white) grease on it, reseated it and have had no problems since.

Mine was going wacko too when I first got it did the samething as Idaho Native and no problems since. 99 too
