Why would you want to do that? The seats in the 4th gen are the best seats that Ram has put out. I had an '11 for about a year and had no problems whatsoever.
My 04 has Leather the new truck is cloth, I did figure out for myself why this wont work,. The new truck has airbags in the seats, the truck puter would not allow me to switch to a non airbag seat. .
Not to hijack the thread, butI am about to do the exact opposite... got a set of charcoal leather 40/20/20 with rear seats from a 2012 and will be installing them in my 2005. According to a couple of writ-eps, the fronts are s direct bolt in, with it being necessary to either cut the 2012 rear seat mounting brackets shorter or cut into the rear cab wall to make a new mounting point. Of course the wiring plugs are different, but nothing that a little cut and solder won't fix.
Here is the best write-up that I have read on how to do it, includes pix--
All that being said, here is a link to the guy I bought my 2012 seats from... he gets more available at any time and while expensinve, he does accept reasonable offers--
Seafish, those are nice seats. I would not pay $3k for a set of factory seats. Some people would though. For that kind of money might as well look elsewhere.
