Thanks, TDR Staff

Competition Was on the dyno this morning...

Competition Today was a great day...

Not sure how much exposure this has recieved outside of the South Events forums, so I thought I'd post it here as well.

For those who don't know, Nowel was enroute to the race in Houston last year when he suffered what would be a fatal brain aneurysm. This year, in memory of Nowel, the race has been named in his honer.

More information can be found here. Including information on the plan to get Nowel's Red Rocket from Wasington State to Houston.

Also from over here, if Darren gets his truck back together, he and Matt are going. I think David said he's driving over from Ky, by the way of Bowing Green. He's meeting Dennis to convoy with the "white rocket". I'm trying to get Jeff to take his modified truck. I don't know if he will or not. That means driving the Peterbuilt for 1500 miles and closing the shop for 4 days. Oh well. The race truck has really gotten to fast for the frame and setup, anyway. A 9 sec truck on a stock frame is just to fast for what the truck is. Some changes have to be made and that's takes more money. Yeah, that stuff. There are not big money sponsers here. We're just little fish in a giant ocean. Still, the plans for now is to go with what ever we end up with. Like everyone else, that's quite a trip right before Christmas. But the wife said go if you want to. So I will . If they go, me too. :)

So far, I will be unable to attend. I really would like to more in honor of Nowel than anything. I am still on the road, and have not got back to Denver. We need to do some work on the dragster before hitting the track again.

Have a cold one for me.

As Preston says, looks like I am gonna make it. Took some majoy scheduling but unless something odd happens I will be arriving sometime Saturday. Looking forward to meeting many that I have never formally met before. Jim Fulmer, you going to be there?

Darren is putting his truck back together and if the tuning time works out as he hopes, I think Darren will go. Matt might go if Darren goes, and Jeff may go either way. And now Preston might tag along too. Cool!!

Is there a prefered place to stay? Where is the party gonna be? No Dyno work for me, I'm gonna play. If I wasn't in the middle of a major road trip I'd race my 9 second truck but can't risk the carnage that far from home. But it would be interesting to see just how well it would run in Texas. Ya think I could still run a 9, and if so, what do you think it would do in the other half of the quarter. LOL :-laf

I'll be there to lower my record , I've been testing , got the 60' in to the upper teens and 1/8 mile in to the high 20's Houston is a tricky track and difficult sometimes to get down when its not prepped

Good luck to all of you. You watch, something wild will happen, and we won't be there...

I'm tired, broke, the truck and trailer are filthy and full of broken parts, got a list of to-dos as long as my arm, so need to get recharged and get grinding away on some new stuff for spring.

How about a Roll Call of the "tube cars":

Eric McBride, you coming?

Chad Riley?

Keith and the Edge crew?

Who else? Someone needs to go play with Comp in his backyard!

Jim Fulmer, you going to be there?

Don't know on that one and I won't till last minute, I'm suppose to have duty that weekend... ... . we'll see.

Jim

Jim... ..... If I pull David's dyno out there will you get on it and show all us non-believers you 800+HP on #2? I told David I would but he just want's to play when he gets there. I don't blame him on that, but I just do not believe 800HP can be made on #2 diesel only. I want to see it. Then I believe. I want to believe, brother.

Amen, Amen, and Amen

. . Preston. .

Preston I don't think a true (uncorrected) 800 hp can be made on #2 (pump gas #2) without some adder, I've never done it without water/meth, 750 (745 uncorrected) on #2 is the best so far, next year should show the full potential as I have a few more things to try.

If I can make it I would be more than happy to climb up on the dyno, I might learn something, I'm never afraid of a (road test) pass and the dyno is no exception, I'll pull it right off the road and dyno without any issues... ... ... . ok I'll say a prayer!

Jim

Boy, you took a load off me. That's a long haul. I do wish you could make it. David says the dyno needs some work anyway. There seems to be some tire and axle problems. To many blowouts. Still if everything was lined up OK, I still would pull it for him.

And the water/meth seems to be really catching on. Even down here.

we have a new triple eddy current mustang dyno, but nobody here has played with it , guess I could bring it . any one have experience with the mustang dyno

All I need is an injection pump for my 12V, and a 14cm WG'd exhaust housing for my HX-35, and I'll be there with my rigs up and running, but, I think money is to tight for either to happen, so, I'll just show up with my stock turbo'd 3500.

Anybody have a want for Transfer flow 56 gallon replacement for an '03? It brand new, but out of box. I've had it for about a week.
