Well they told me to run with the box on and locked in OD all the time. Today running a 21 ft wag trailer from Longview, TX to Kernersville, NC the dam box kept turning itself off. Then it went into 3rd and kept bouncing in and out of lockup. I finally unplugged the TransCommander and am running 60 MPH in 3rd. Dam barnicle on the but of the Interstates I am. DOC thinks the shift solinoids are out of it again. Gonna try and deliver the trailer like it is then limp back to Angola, IN for repairs. Not much luck with my ATS. . . been babying this puppy coast to coast and border to border. 65 MPH and changing the transmission fluid every 10 to 15k. Called ATS and left messages to have Matt call me back once a week for two weeks, he must be too busy, haven't heard a word. This sucks.

Cheers,

Steve J

Not to sound ugly but I think that I would be looking for another transmission! When you are making money with your rig you need service when you need it and not when they decide to call you back #@$%! #@$%! #@$%! #@$%!

IMHO

well once the ATS bugs get a hold of this thread with the DTT word attached in conjunction with their product I'd imagine a call will be coming forthwith---hopefully they will call you soon--if not call Bill, 'ell call him now--you've waited long enuff--it won't be the first time he's helped an ATS guy out---chris

Steve sorry to hear of all your problems. My buddy had an 02 with the same problem as you & I tried before he bought to get him to go the same route I did. Well he traded it off after all that $$ he spent on it, for a new 2005. I'm still happy with my choice 18 mnths & no problems. Hope you get it worked out & don't have anymore down time.

Dropped at Kernersville, NC, reloaded with light tag trailer out of Monroe, NC going to Anderson, SC, two trailers, two trips. Had three trailer, but one was sold. After dropping the second I ran outta balls. Really decided to head for Angola, IN. Rams doing good to pull it's own nars down the road now. Made it to Walton, KY, needed to sleep. Now it's the weekend and nobody works the weekend. Prolly sit in the J and restart my hours. Plan to be sitting first in line when DOC opens Monday morn.

Cheers,

Steve J

Steve----Just a couple of questions. Was it raining so that you were using the intermitten(not sure about the spelling) wipers? If this is so then it could be that you may not have a good ground for the commander or you may need a clean power source from the battery. The voltage change produced by the wiper can cause the box to change. Mine has done that with three different commanders. I just haven't got around to giving it the clean power source yet. Question #2 What are the DTT comments doing on this thread?????????

Well Leroy... . I was gonna suggest calling Dave at Goerends. Dave will even call back on Weekends. I know people that have his personal Cell number that have called him at 2am... and STILL gotten solid advise.

Good luck OTRPU

Josh

I think they are just trying to help a guy out to keep moving down the road, if the truck's sitting, or less than par, the poor guy's losin money. They are just suggesting people that can help the guy out. Unfortunately, sometimes rules need stretched. There is ZERO flaming occurring, so I fail to see the problem.

Looks to me like at least these two guys are offering up someone who will actually help OTRPU as he cruises all over the U. S. , as apparently his vendor won't.

That's exactly it... I'm not Flaiming ATS... . If anyone else thinks that's the case... I'll edit my first post. The man depends on his truck for a living. He's out on the road, and made calls to get his issue taken care of. Next step... find someone who is willing to help. Heck OTRPU, if you want give me a jingle. You said 4th gear is out... . they only thing that applies for 4th is the OD clutch pack or as you said the trans commander is giving you issues. I wish I could do more from my chair... . but I can't.

Good luck,

If you want any advise, or just a cup of coffee, send me a PM and I'll give you my number!

Josh

Man, Steve. That sucks. Hope this year doesn't turn out for you, the same as last year did. Not a good start. Hope you get it up and fixed quickly. I don't have any experiance with any transmission controllers, so I can't offer any other assistance. :( Good luck.

As Josh mentioned, Dave will treat you right. Been VERY happy with my transmission. :D

Well, made it to Dave's Diesel in Angola, IN. He's an ATS dealer as well as others. He's relatively certain it has to do with the solonoids and has them in stock. Thinks it's probably starting out in second or third gear. And the OD solonoid probably needs replacing also. I'll give ATS another call Monday and see if it's covered under their three year warranty. Don't want to hack on somebody without giving them a chance to cure if they will. Just don't understand why they don't return my calls. Maybe just fallin thorugh the cracks in the floor. Things sure go to haytes in a handbag quickly. . . transmission seemed to be working fine since they reworked the TransCommander. Thanks for the good wishes and advice all.

Cheers,

Steve J

OTRPU it is not just your calls they don't return, My transmission overheated pulling my 5er a couple weeks ago and I made 2 days worth of calls and only got a message machine. I left multiple messages and no return calls. I simply wanted them to tell me what could be screwed up or what could have went wrong. I flushed and serviced the transmission and it seems to be working fine so far, in the process of adding another cooler. My friend called them yesterday multiple times and finally got in touch with someone for me, they told him they have been busy with the take over of other products or something to that effect. Anyway good luck with you truck and hope it gets fixed ok. Later.

They can't answer your call Steve, they are too busy filming the episode of Two Guys Garage :D. It always seems as most companies grow they loose sight of the importent things, like good personel customer sevice. Come on lets face they are big enough to not care if they loose a customer or get a beating in a TDR forum. By the looks of there web site, money is rolling in.
