Hey Steve. . Guess you are not the only one with an ATS service issue. Found this a minute ago:

Poor Service at ATS on Pacbrake

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I had ATS (Denver) put on a Pacbrake on my 04. 5 Dually last August. The thing did't give much braking help but did run okay. Last week during a snowstorm the brake stuck in "on" and I had to limp to a side street and disconnect the air line to the acutator cylinder. Called ATS, and was told to spray brake free on the linkage. Seemed odd to me since the thing had disengaged immediately upon pulling the air line, but oh well, did that and of course no help. Now it wouldn't come on at all. Called ATS and was told to bring it in on a Friday. Showed up after driving in from 50 miles out and waited 30 minutes at the service counter. Finally got a service writer to take the key. At about 4:00 that day, service writer calls and says they hadn't got to it and needed to keep it. Okay, so Monday about 3:00 p. m. , put in a call to the service writer requesting status. Never got a call. Tuesday morning, called and was told that they had called Pacbrake for help, but would have it done by lunch. At 2:00 p. m. , I called and did receive a call back about 2:30 saying it was done. Had them leave the key inside the locked truck and later in the evening, drove back in 50 miles and started down I-70 to I-25. Had been going about 10 minutes and the *&%$$# thing locked up again. Had to fight through four lanes of fast traffic at idle to pull over.

Called Pacbrake and got a referral to another outfit for repair. Put in a call for Clint Cannon who allegedly runs ATS to register complaint. Haven't got a call back. How *&^%# surprising!

I'm not impressed with ATS and am reserving judgement on Pacbrake!

Steve----Just a couple of questions. Was it raining so that you were using the intermitten(not sure about the spelling) wipers? If this is so then it could be that you may not have a good ground for the commander or you may need a clean power source from the battery. The voltage change produced by the wiper can cause the box to change. Mine has done that with three different commanders. I just haven't got around to giving it the clean power source yet. Question #2 What are the DTT comments doing on this thread?????????

Leroy, don't think the wipers were on. ATS made sure I was aware of ensuring good grounds for evertyhing that's been added. In fact have the DTT noise supressor installed as well.

Dave's Diesel dropped the pan and pulled the pressure pump. Replaced all three of the solonoids for the transmission. They weren't concerned with the amount of friction pad material found in the pan, said it looked like normal wear to them. Finally got a hold of ATS and they are covering the work under warranty. So for now I'm a happy camper hauler. It's been a few days and lots of miles since I first posted this string. Had a 5er going to Portland, OR. . . seems I decided to knock a couple driver side mirrors off of a couple big trucks with my camper awning brace trying to get in cash line at the IL cash box 294/80 split. Couple sorta upset tractor drivers, can't work without mirrors. First time I've used Bennetts load insurance. Drug my broke puppy back to the Bennett Yard and dropped it for another going to Evansville, WY, by Casper. Right rear trailer tire blew out within 50 miles. I can tell you the engineer that designed that camper spare tire carrier will burn in hates forever. They should make those engineers have to use the junk they design would be penalty enough. Got 800 miles to go and no spare. IF you guys pray say a few for me, think I need um.

Cheers,

Steve J

ATS reply

OTRPU-----Thanks for the reply. I have no Idea why it took so long to get your reply, I've always been treated the best by ATS. I even got to talk with Clint a couple of times. Anything made by the hands of man can fail sooner or later no matter whose name is on it. Get plenty of rest and let the Lord know that He is welcome to travel with you. :p
