security system

Have any of you had trouble with your security system? A couple of times I have unlocked my door with the keyless entry system and when I open the door the system gets tripped (horn, lights etc) When I start the truck it stops. Has happened twice in 6 months. This Am at 9am while I was in the kitchen it was tripped for no apparent reason. I didn't even have the truck locked! I tried to shut it off by unlocking the door with thr remote the alarm still sounded. I went out and used the key in the door and the alrm stayed on. When I went out to start it the truck started but the alarm would not shut off. It finally did after 3 minutes Kinda embarrassing if i was in a parking lot or something. I guess i will disconnect the horn for now until I get it looked at.

I would take it to the dealer since it should still be under warranty. No problems from mine since it was installed and everything finally programmed correctly.

Yea right. I know how that conversation will go. "we had it all day long and couldn't find anything wrong. You must have pushed the panic button without knowing it and you probably thought you started the truck but you really didn't. We would be happy to look at it again once you put 36,000 miles on your truck.

MIne has done it a couple of times, but no explanation as to why. Unless it does it fairly often, I'd ignore it, unless the dealer is aware of a TSB or SB for it.
