This problem just started about two weeks ago. I thought it might be tied to the dead throttle syndrome but I fixed that and the speedo is still dropping out at about 22 mph. As soon as speed gets back up to 22 or so it comes back up and stays as long as speed is above that. Haven't checked for codes yet. Any help.

Yep - speed sensor in the rear end. I had the exact same symptoms and that fixed it. You can get it at auto parts stores - it's a generally available part.

Speedometer drops to Zero

Did the code read thing and came up with P1693. Has to do with the ABS like someone said. I checked around at my parts stores and no one carries it, like it is a dealer part?? Haven't been there yet. I rarely do that. Unless I have to. But will do soon. Thanks for the responses.

I changed the wheel speed sensor in the rear end and cleared that problem like most were saying. The ABS lite went out a few seconds after startup and the the brake lite went out a few seconds later. Have stayed out ever since, now for about 4 days. Never did have a brake problem as such but then that would not show up on dry pavement. Had to get the part at dealer here though. Thanks for replies.
