5" Exhaust Questions

I am in the middle of a gears swap and the rear is done and i went to do the front and I never got the carrier that i needed. So now i am looking for something that is selectable either Open or Locked not a LSD. The only options that i know about are the ARB and the OX. Out of the two which one would you go with. The selectable locker will be going in the Dana 60, 30 spline with 4. 30 gears.

arb seems to have been pretty reliable for the time that is has been out, but that ox locker is dead simple eh. . cable actuated on/off. arb, you loose air, you loose lock. that diff cover is a pretty heavy piece of steel too on the ox... if you read through the archives over on www.rockcrawler.com they installed a ox on a TJ and iirc, they were impressed. should perform very similarly on your application

IMHO the ARB is the best thing on the market. It will take all the HP you can throw at it too. Plus you can use the air comp for airing up tires, ect. Never had a problem in the 5 years I've had them in my Suzuki Sami.

Bill, do they make it yet for the Dana 60? I emailed Eaton a while ago and they said they hope to have it out by this coming spring.

The e-locker is cool and easier to set up than a air locker, Also you don't have to modify the bearing cap on a e-locker like an air. I don't remember the spline on the front but the rear dana 70 is 32 spline. We have set up a couple of e-lockers and on of them was a limited slip until you flipped the switch and them it locked. They are very cool and look strong. My neighbor runs air lockers and he has had some problems with the little seal o-rings inside going bad, they wont take contamination in the oil. We have heard this from other customers also.

What happens when you drive the e-locker through a creek? My main concern would be getting moisture in the electronics (or ripping the wires) and not being able to engage it when needed. What's your take on the e-lockers consruction in regards to this (IOW, do you think it would hold up to pretty serious offroading?)

The conectors a weather pac and they are sealed, The ones we have seen come with lock plate. The plate will lock the diff up if the electronic part doesnt work. The plate bolts on in place of the solinoid.
