Question of the day is:

I have been asked to wire a 3 position car trailer so it will hook up to a 1995 Internation Eagle (6300 I think). The tractor has a seperate wire for stop and turn and the trailer has them combined. My first thought was to buy a convertor like used on import cars/trucks but he wants to be able to hook it to his pickup (1996 Dodge CDT Ram) every once in awhile. So ..... will the convertor burn up if voltage is applied to the wrong side?

A co-worker just mentioned running a seperate set of turn signals and that is an idea if there is room but wanted some more suggestions if ya got one.

TIA - Marty

Don't mess with the trailer. Go get the proper converter for the truck and install in truck then get adapters to fit the trailer.

You probably also need to add an electric brake controller to the International as well, I'm assuming all it has is airbrakes. I would just install another plug on the tractor with the proper orientation for the trailer that way you can install the converter and electric brake controller in the truck and not affect the trailer at all. Everything stays right for pulling with the Dodge.
