Archived Seriously LOW Fuel mileage and smokin

Mine is a 98 3500 12v 4x4. I recently purchased it and it is getting about 10mpg!!! Smoking an awful lot too. Is their anyone here in the eastern PA /Phila. area who works on these or can recommend a shop to help me perhaps take car of what is a timing issue. I have a trip coming up end of aug. to Michigan, would like to get it remedied before then.

Do a sig so we know what you have and how its setup. Do you have an exhaust brake?

When we have a high smoke low power situation every time we have fixed the problem by replacing the lift pump although twice we found just one intake bolt had vibrated out caused the same problem the drivers have mentioned that they will use more fuel
