I have a 2003 HO with dealer installed Jacobs E Brake/Vacuum Pump.

I need to find the part number for the Serp Belt as mine is worn bad. I have bumped and bumped the engine trying to find the number on the belt..... nothing ZIP. The belt for the engine with the Jake EBrake Vacuum Pump is what I need the number for.

Thanks

Its amazing, I just lost my tensioner and belt on my 04. 5 and behold a serpentine belt thread is started. Its the first time I have seen a thread on the belt system. There may have been threads before on them, but its the first time I've seen it.

I was on my way to LAX for a trip to Bali, Indonesia When my reliable 04. 5 D/C started ticking, by the time I got to LAX it was loud and I thought I lost an injector. I parked it and hoped for the best when I returned, when I started it, there was no noise and drove it 70 miles without any problems. But I have a house I just bought in Las Vegas and had to haul a bunch of furniture for my daughter, as well as prep the house for renting and needed my 04. 5. So to make sure there was no issues I took it to my tech, about an 1/8 of an inch of the serpentine belt wrapped around the clutch fan and was the cause of the noise, so I had my tech replace the tensioner and belt.

Just a note: Everyone with the jacobs setup should get themselves an extra belt... The belt does NOT cross over to Gates or Dayco... so losing it in the field could mean some serious downtime while getting it from cummins or worse, a dodge dealer.

Oh, and another thing... If you have a labelmaker, make some labels for the belt numbers, tensioner and filter numbers and stick em in your engine bay. I do this for all my bus customers and it sure comes in handy when the numbers are worn off or you lose the belt completely!
