My 05 didn't chirp at first but now with over 1000 miles it chirps loud. (AUTO) My 2000 with a 6 speed chirped loud too. Is the gatorback belts stopping the chirp completely? If it is I think I might have to get one, I don't really like the sound, reminds me of a old grain truck.

Put the gatorback on my '98 and it stopped the chirp. '05 chirps the majority of the time, doesn't bother me and it is completely normal.

Replaced cripping serptine belt now have vibration

I order the goodyear gatorback belt from Autozone ,it took 3 days too get it. So I removed the factory serpitine belt and in stall the gatorback, It fixed the chirp when I shut off the truck, but now I have a vibration in the engine compartment it travels up the steering wheel and up the brake pedal. Never had it be for I changed the belt (36330 mile on truck) the belt flaps up and down causing a vibration . It flaps up and down between the power steering pump and the top ilder pulley. Anybody have any ideas ?

In that case the new DMF setup better not squawk at all then. Mine did it when new but I havent heard it for the past 10K miles.

I don't see why it would Matt. The flywheel assembly regardless of it's design is much heavier that the TC correct? I must admit that I don't know much about the DMF setup though.

{quote: My 05 Chirps like a chicken hawk when I shut'er down. I have 2600 miles, and it has done it 99. 9% of shutdowns. )

mine has 10500 miles and it sqwauks like a scalded chicken hawk each and every time.

I disagree with the comment that a flywheel is more massive than a torque converter. A torque converter that is full of fluid is probably much heavier than any clutch and flywheel assembly.

I like the chirp of the belt when I shutdown my 1st Gen, it gets that little "what was that" look from folks. Wish my '97 did it too.
