I am at point where my serpentine belt must be replaced. What is consensus on going ahead and replacing the idler pulley, fan bearing water pump, etc?

How many miles?

I'd recommend replacing the idler and tensioner with the belt. If everything else is still spinning fine keep it the OEM stuff lasts a while. I changed my OE water pump shortly after I got my truck while doing a belt service with the tensioner and idler and regret it. I've been through two aftermarket water pumps now when my OE had no issue other than my "while you're there mindset"

120000 miles, all original parts.

@B.G. Smith, There's nothing wrong to replace it all if it will bring you peace of mind! Time can be harder than mileage! As long as the budget can handle the investment, then round up the parts, and get it done. Like @Darkbloodmon stated, an OEM water pump is the one thing to not deviate from! The Gates HD belt for my truck has served me well. Sometimes you can find a good deal on a package deal of belt and related items. Check RockAuto.com to help in comparing $'s. Time is ticking with weather changing for the better!

I changed the pump and idler/tensioner on a '06 for a neighbor with 400K on the clock. It ate the belt, was old, I found nothing else wrong. The crank pulley was packed with rubber I had to scrape out. He wanted the pump changed, which I hated as it was original and in perfect condition, "Made in England", you cannot get those any more. By the way that '06 was a ton more difficult to work on with the huge fan shroud than my '03. He sold the truck, I saved the pump.
