All I have to say is TDR comes through once again with a big one. Pulling out of the driveway today and I hear something slapping inside the engine bay. Immediately stopped and took a look and what do ya know it's the serpentine belt fraying away. Good thing I paid attention to senior subscribers and bought myself a backup serpentine belt. Well after four hours of beating on my truck, myself and the dog I got it on there. Made me feel like an idiot, but I accomplished the task at hand. Thank you TDR for your unbelievable wealth of knowledge to us once a month wrench turners!!!!!

when i lost my belt last dec, i bought a dayco tensioner assy and replaced it too. that "teflon" that is slides on as it rocks back n forth wears out, and even into the aluminum.

Also, it is easier / quicker to replace the assy with a belt change vs. trying to get that belt around the old one.

Replace tensioner spring gets week. When you shut off truck the belt jumps off power steering and frays mine did it twice before replacing tensioner

Good luck
