I would go ahead an change it. Why take the chance on an inexpensive belt. Not hard and it don't take that long.

spair ?

Carry it as a spar after getting a new one , you could help some down by the road ramer and make a Friend for life ,with the old one . or you could use at show and tell or ///////////////;/. LOL Ron Bissett in LOUISVILLE KY:D :D :D

Mine lasted about 40K miles before showing some small cracks on the underside. I got a Gates belt at O'reilly's auto parts and after another 35K miles, got it replaced due to some small cracks on the underside. They guy could not believe I "wore" out the belt so soon. Not a big deal since it comes with a lifetime warranty on the belt. Not worth taking a chance on getting stuck in the middle of nowhere due to a belt failure.

Mine made it to about 97,000 before I changed it just for piece of mind. It is really hard to tell what kind of shape these belts are really in without taking them out. Once out, it still looked good on the outside(could read writing) but was starting to crack quite a bit on the inside. Sure it might have lasted another 100k but I prefer not to spend my time sitting on the side of the road due to a $24 piece I should have replaced as a basic maintenance item.

I've also seen people run their tires all the way until the steel belts start showing, and I don't recommend that either.

Do yourself a favor and replace it now!!!!

I'm running the Goodyear Gatorback that you can pick up from Autozone now for $24. It is diagonally cross-checked belt which gives it better flexibility, quieter performance, lifetime warranty, and it got rid of that annoying shutdown chirp to boot.

Hey is there a model number or specific size for that Goodyear Gatorback? I assume there are several sizes, etc. . Haven't needed to get one yet but will soon.

My Dad is bringing me one when he comes down from Maine. We dont have an Auto Zone around here, the local Goodyear place wants $56. 00 for the same belt Dad can get me for $25. 00.
