Service manager solves pull to right on all trucks

"I went to the dealer for my truck pulling to the right. They checked it out and said that everything was within specs. I asked the service manager why it would still pull if everything was fine,he pointed to my right exhaust tip and said that usually causes it. The service manager went into this whole lecture about how the exhaust pushes the tail left and the nose right. After letting him go on for about five minutes I said OK BUT I HAVE TWO PIPES,ONE ON THE RIGHT AND ANOTHER ON THE LEFT. God I made him feel stupid. "

I think the service manager is right,if I floor my CTD in neutral I can make my truck spin around in circles #ad
Yeah right,thats why I'd never trust my truck to a dealer.

Its has to do with the earth's rotation. When you go north it pulls right, south, left. Except in the Southern Hemisphere.

I thought it was the added weight of the oil filter and oil on the right side of the engine that caused it to pull to the right <g>.

And I found out that if you have the plug for your heater hanging out the hood on the bumper, it will pull to the right <g>.

I was told it was the engine cooling fan working like an airplane propeller. Since the truck has no tail rudder,the fan pulls the front-end of the truck over to the right. #ad

I don't have the pull problem but I have an idea. Every one thinks the their is a problem with the front brakes. I think it could be the rears not being adjusted evenly? I would like for someone with the problem to play with this and let us know!

That explains it. Ever since I installed the HX 40 and the 4" exhaust, my truck only wants to go in circles. Why didn't I think of that?

But seriously, the weight of the oil filter is being overly counterweighted by the driver, steering column and brake master cylinder. Not to mention the extra powerwindow switch and the effect it has on the polar moment of inertia. The turbo and exaust system does counteract the effect, however, resulting in near perfect balance. That leaves the force from the exaust PLUS the aerodynamic effect of the aformentioned "exposed heater plug" combined with the suction created by the intake on the right side of the vehicle. Considering the magnetic pull of the North pole and the average moon phase... .

Extreme1 brings up a valid point. Is he steering wander in some trucks and not others in direct proportion to the size of the driver in the trucks that have the problem? #ad

I've seen a couple of the other members and they, like myself, aren't small fellas. #ad

Extreme,you forgot the DC engineers put the fuel tank on the left to counteract the thrust from the exhaust pipe. The only thing they forgot is that as the tank level drops,the exhaust thrust begins to win and the truck begins pulling to the right.

Curtis,you could be right. We have a guy in my town,Taco Joe,he must weigh at least 400+ lbs. He drove a CTD 3500 LB Ex cab,big truck for a big guy,when he stepped on the running board you'd swear that the opposite side was going to come off the ground. Taco Joe got rid of his Dodge and bought a PSD,when I asked him why he said,"I never could get that Dodge to go straight".

, jet force exhaust stream out of the tail pipe. Maybe we should run the dual pipes out the rear, that should help us out with the high cost of diesel(jet propelled). #ad

A guy I work with has a Dodge 1500 with a automatic transmission that is having problems. When he shifts into reverse, the whole truck slams backwards and sounds like the rearend is going to fly out. The service manager told him that they all do it and the reason his is so much worse is because the tube side-bars are transmitting the noise (through the hollow tubing). It doesn't do it usually the first time the truck goes into reverse. Then the service manager told him he shouldn't have to shift into reverse more than once! #ad

It's strictly a Northern hemisphere thing. All these trucks pull the other way South of the Equator.

Oddly enough, the brains of that service manager do the exact same thing everytime he flushes.
