Service manual question

Could someone PLEASE tell me whick factory service manual i need for my 91. 5..... you'd think Chrysler would know . After talking to 3 different people there and contacting a couple of the places recommended here after doing a search on service manuals..... i got nuthin . Thanks.

Get the one listed as the Service manual. D&W 150-350 Ramcharger.



Another one is called 5. 9L Cummins Diesel Truck. Powertrain Diagnostic Procedures. This manual gets heavy into the electrical side of what our trucks have with the diesel. This is a good manual to have also.



The third one I have is called Charging and Speed Control. Powertrain Diagnostic Procedures. This one is border line if most people need it. All it covers is the charging and cruise control.



On the last two manuals. If you are not good on reading wiring prints or troubleshooting. Neather one will be able to help much. You need some background in auto electrical to read a Dodge manual.



The first one is the one to get. The other two are your call. A few of use here have the other two if the need comes up and someone needs help.



I think there is a forth one covering the care and feeding of the CTD. But I can't remember what Dodge calls it.

I agree with Phillip, you need the basic manual for '91, but you'll need the Service Manual Supplement-Diesel Engine which covers the 91. 5 trucks. The supplement is moctly schematics, but the engine section has stuff in it that isn't covered in the basic manual. I got both of mine off of ebay.

Thanks for the replies. I have found the Service Manual that Philip suggested above online for 79. 95, i just I forgot to add "which year" in my question... ..... 1991 or 1992. The guy at one of the auto book places told me he hasn't seen a supplement for the 91. 5 in a couple years and i might be better off with the manual for the '92. Thoughts?

Buy the 93 Factory Service Manual. Same stuff, only fsm with getrag rebuild info, in case you or a friend buys a getrag equipped CTD.

I just got my D&W 150-350 Ramcharger Manual, and all i gotta say is wow!! That's a bigass bible, PB Looks VERY good... only thing is i wish it had a speedo diagnostic in there but oh well heh pretty minor. Grab it, you'll love it

Guys... . just got off the phone with Faxon Auto Literature 1-800-458-2734, got the 91 service manual (59. 00) and the 91. 5 diesel supplement (29. 00) on the way .
