I just called for a service manual on CD ROM from the back of the owner's manual. Couldn't decide on book or disk form, but I think the disk will be nice to have. Just print the pages needed, and not worry about the grubby fingers :D I'll probably miss thumbing through a well used thick book of info.

Be carefull using the dodge factory manual for wiring, it is full of

mistakes, a common problem with new model manuals.

Chrysler is slowly getting rid of paper manuals, in the next 6 months we will be fully online, which will allow quick updates on

misinformation to the dealers, so i am not sure if the paper updates will be along any time soon. My only suggestion for

using the wiring section would be to double check wire colors and

connector pin outs in different sections for comparison, if they

dont match, be carefull it could get expensive. a new ecm is

2000. 00 canadian.

Thanks for the tip on the eBay CD manual. (a very professional looking copy) I ordered that one and I'm sending back the other one for the book version. I guess I'm not real crazy about using the computer version for just browsing. It will be nice to have for printing pages, though. I put it on my computer so I don't have to wait for the CD ROM drive to load it each time.

We have the cd version as well, and another nice feature of this format is being able to search by key word. For rookies, it allows us to check all relevant information, much of which we would not know is related otherwise. We also just copy the pages we need avoiding grease, wear and tear.

Thanks for the heads up about the wiring not being accurate, that is most helpful.

When you download Adobe Acrobat Reader, one of the choices is if you want to download the search feature. I've always downloaded that feature so I don't know what it's like without it. The obvious guess is you can't search without it. This link should take you right to the download page:

The CD version is great for quickly finding every reference to a particular item but you need a computer to use it. You can print out the pages you need and take them to the shop to work if you don't have a beat up PC in the shop. The book can be taken anywhere, even stored in your truck for when you're on the road and need to refer to it for an emergency repair.
