Would I be better off getting the DC service manual for my truck or should I go with the cummins service manual? I'm mainly interested in having something for the engine and was wondering if the DC manual would cover everything that the cummins book would...

I bought the "Authorized" Ram Truck manual on CD from Geno's for my '98. Then I bought one that covered '04, '05 & '06 off e-Bay for less than half. In using them, it's hard to tell the difference.

I'd guess that unless you have plans to really get into the engine you would get more use from the Ram manual than from the Cummins one since it covers everything on the truck.

Yeah, I'm just trying to figure out if the ram manual would be as in-depth in the engine section as the cummins manual would be...

I have the d/c manuals for my 98. 5. they come as a set, the truck manual covers every on the truck including the 5. 9 12 vqlve, then a seperate 24 valve manual that seems to be a copy of the cummins manual, and third a sheet metal on the body and all its components. hope this help.
