Service Required

I have a service required message on the over head display. I have about 140K on the odometer, is this for EGR cleaning again?

Sorry, this is on the 6. 7... ... .

What else does it say? Does it say, "Service Required" then "See Dealer Now"?

I get a ding "Service Required", another ding and "see dealer now". It will repeat every 20 minutes or so.

You don't have EFI Live do you? Once I got rid of the Smarty, mine started doing that but only when at highway speeds and cruise control on.

I have zero codes, but that stupid dinger keeps going off.

From what I have gathered, it's from the DPF.

Not sure what you men by "EFI", I have been running the SmartyME for about 50K miles now and this is the first sign of anything out of the ordinary. I figure it is another way for the dealer to make some money... ...

It starts right after I crank. I can reach up and hit the button and the display will return to the previous screen and then it will do it again about every 20 minutes.

EFI Live is another type of tuner.

A diesel shop I go to here in Houston said that he has had many trucks with this issue who run the SmartyME. Must be something to do with the version. I had 23me and never had the dinger.

OK, I still don't know what service is required but I was not able to reset it. I changed to an economy load and flashed the ECM, and no more dinging. I really think this was for the same service that is required at 67K since this happened at about the second 67K mark. Can anyone confirm this?

67k mark is around the time for a CCV filter change...
