Service/Shop Manuals?

Anyone know what the shop manuals are going for and if there are any places to get good prices, other than the stealer, I mean dealer?



Also wondering if there is any need to bring the truck into the dealer, if I do my own maintenance with approved products and keep receipts, maintenance log with mileage, etc. ? In other words, is their maintenance that only the dealer can do, like electronics and such?

Prices are $110 for 2 book series, or $90 on CD-ROM. Expensive, but these books are a valuable resource.

As stated, worth every penny. My dealer told me to send for them, but if you are on good terms with your parts guy, he might be able to order one through the shop and get you a discount. There was a real good deal on the cd version here a few months ago, but it done up and distapeered .

I called and was quoted the $110 but before purchase would like to know if the manual includes the specs and details for the 48RE transmission. They didn't seem to know. The gal said they recieved theirs last July (02) and that is the manual I would be buying. 48RE didn't come out till Jan. 03 or so. Could one of you who has purchased one take a look and see?

Just went and checked my DC manuals for the 2003. It did have the 48RE, but unfortunately for me, did not mention the 47RE. I bought the truck and manuals 12/2002. Odd I thought.
