I went to Cummins the other day for some parts to repair a leaking fuel line, and at the counter I saw an advertisement for a tool set. It included a flex 3/8 drive ratchet, metric sockets commonly used in servicing a Cummins B series engine, a 14mm and a 15 mm wrench, feeler guages, a stubby screwdriver, an oil filter wrench, and the granddaddy of them all a BARRING tool that fits in the housing adapter and allows you to rotate the crankshaft, all housed in a nice blow molded case. GET THIS all this nice stuff for 55. 89!!!

If you Priced the barring tool alone is usually about $30. 00 from dealer or Cummins. Nice stuff too... nut just a bunch of junky stuf thrown together.

Thought ya'll might like to know. Part number is 3399869

Why didn't you tell me before I bought esl where a year ago ?
I bought a membership to Cummins , and theres a discount on everything also , $17 or 19 a yr. I think its called QUICKSERVE , they keep your info inthere computor , and you also get internet access .

I picked one up about 6 years ago for $60. 00 Canadian. I use it everytime I change the oil and filters and the flex ratchet comes in handy all the time. Fits nice in my tool box in the truck so I have a filter wrench handy if I ever need to change a fuel filter while away from home. Hard to imagine more people don't have one!

Did they say how long that special would be running? I don't get back to the states for a few weeks and would like to get that deal.

I went to the cummins dealer here in Columbus, GA and they could not find the part number... . anyone know where I can order one online or near me that would not kill me in shipping?

The counter guy in Reno had a hard time finding part # too so maybe someone here who already has the kit can look on their slip and post the number. I happen to luck out and walk in the door when another guy was just picking up his pre-ordered kit so things went smooth for me although I'm still waiting for delivery... we know how that can go esp. on a sharply discounted items.

I just picked up one of the Cummins tool sets yesterday. It is pretty nice. All the tools have K-D USA stamped, even the barring tool! I paid about $60.

The Cummins Dealer, Bridgeway Cummins had the set listed for $45 on their Internet site but wouldn't honor that price.

What do you have to do to get the Cummins dealers to give you a discount? I tried everything, they wouldn't budge. And then they wanted $19. 95 for the 7 micron Fleetguard filter, Genos is WAY CHEAPER even with shipping.

The tool set even has instructions on setting the valves & changing the oil. :D

Barring Tool from Cummins is $38. 75.

I have ratchets and sockets coming out of my ears, so I'm just going to pickup a barring tool.
