While cruising around today, I felt a stumble and I stopped to check the codes. This is what I got...

PCM P-0500

ECU P-1693

Does anybody know what these are for? Seem to run ok, and everything is in check.

Not sure exactly, but the 5 (in 0500) would mean idle control or vehicle speed control and the 6 (in 1693) means computer output circuit.

per my 2000 service manual

p0500 - No vehicle speed sensor signal detected during road load conditions

p1693 - A fault has been generated in the companion engine control module.

Take it to the dealer and have them do their thing, that is what a warranty is for :)

Is your speedo working? I set the P0500 code of once when I was sitting in my truck for a prolonged time with the A/C on. I was holding the rpms up in neutral and it must of thought that I was driving with the speedo un-hooked. Chris

Why goto the dealer over something so little?

Unhook the batteries for a while and see if you can regenrate the code.

If your Vehicle Speed Sensor is truely bad it'll surely come back... ... . but its nuthing to "worry" about.
