Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) set off two codes

My truck recently set off two codes P1693 on 0523. I was driving home and my oil pressure dropped I got out to look and I didnt have any leaks. When I got back in about 3 miles down the road it happened again. It would drop for about a minute then it would come back up. I looked these codes up but I dont know what they mean. Does anyone have any suggestions?



p 1693= DTC detected in ecm or pcm

0523= Oil pressure voltage to high

0523 is oil pressure voltage too high. there have been quite a number of failures to the sensor. its located on the left side of the block near the fuel filter. buy on from cummins, cheaper than dc. hope this helps. you can check the pressure at the plug on top of the oil filter .

I got the same codes on my '01 at 11K miles. I had DC replace the Oil pressure sensor and have been trouble free for the last 94K miles.
