I just had the transmission upgraded with the DTT 89 tc, clutch update kit with billet piston, and MagHyTec DD pan. What will setting the pump timing at 15 1/2 - 16 degrees do for bottom end performance on my 98', 12 valve?:rolleyes:



Is this the same as setting the engine timing?

I remember reading that advancing the timing will result in a loss of low end power below 1600rpm... . but I doubt it's enough to really kill it... .

The top end power and overall drivability of the truck will be much nicer with more timing, though... .

I had mine set up from the stock 14 degrees to 15. 5 degrees. It was not a big adjustment and it really didn't do much for the engine performance. I didn't notice any change except that it sounds like a big diesel when it's idling. Some people that I work with asked me if I did anything different because they noticed the change in the engine when I idled by.

No GSK. Bad Boy. You didn't tell him to get his GSK. You're slipping. :rolleyes:

I'm slipping almost as bad as my OEM transmission!! :D

If the thread had said anything about a GSK, THEN I would have stepped in.

My worldwide crusade to have every Bosch P7100 equipped engine cranked up with a set of Piers' governor springs continues... . :cool:

Matt, I wish you would slow down on your crusade. Now I can't get a gsk from Piers cause your crusade has worked so well!

Well, even if the wait is a bit too long in some minds... . it'll be more than worth it in the end. I lived for 7 months without one..... I'll never drive a 12-valve without a GSK ever again.
