I adj. my timing on my truck w/ MT-257 and adv. timing light and it is alot quicker then pulling the pump plunger out and using a dial indicator. I've been using my MT-257 for 15 yrs. and diesels that have exposed inj. lines and really had good luck with it. All you need is the TDC marked on the vibration dampner and it is like checking the timing on a gas engine. I purchased the tool to rotate the engine from Cummins for $30.
