This is a long post but I need to give the background...
I bought 4 goodyear wrangler silent armor 265/70r17 tires and drove about 400 miles on them. I noticed a minor pull to the right (but NO tread squirm) so I took the truck to get it aligned. The guys aligned it and drove the truck around and said it still pulled, so they rechecked the alignment. The alignment they set was still dead on. They then rotated the tires. No change. They rotated the tires again and it still pulled but "is a little better. " I have the before and after alignment sheet and their notes which say that there is a "tire pull. "

The truck felt kind of funny when I took off and when I got on the freeway it felt downright scary. It felt like the back end was on ice, and I am fairly convinced that I am going down the road a little sideways. When I accelerate I can feel the rearend straightening out and there is no pull. But when I let off the accelerator or drive a constant speed the rear goes to the left and the pull returns.

Has anyone else had this experience with these tires and what did you do to fix it? Do I need different tires? Will a road force balance tell me if there is a defective tire?

Did anyone check to see if the rear axle was centered, or maybe the front axle. i know on a jeep if the axle isn't centered under the vehicle it causes almost the same thing. I would check the rear track bar bushings and possibly the front too.

We started checking everything when it wouldn't stop pulling. And the truck tracked perfectly until I changed the tires. I am hoping that the Road Force machine reveals something tomorrow.

Well, one of the tires had a tread with a pretty good |"wave" in it. It was on the front driver's side. I can't understand how that affected the rear end. Anyway with the tire changed all is well. Thanks for your input HighRanger, I had them double check.
