What is it? and is there a web site I have done a couple of searches and come up with bs like SFI approved this or that. I would think there is a web site that list ALL of the SFI ratings, meaning,definition's.

This is what I found

The SFI Foundation is a non-profit organization established to issue standards for the performance and racing industry. SFI tests a long list of products including gloves, neck braces, harnesses, shoes and uniforms.



The SFI specification for uniforms, spec 3. 2A, rates how long a driving suit will offer protection from a second degree burn in an approximation of a raging gasoline fire between 1800 and 2100 degrees. SFI ratings are calculated in calories per unit area per time of exposure. To figure a uniform's approximate protection time until second degree burns, divide the Thermal Protection Performance (TPP) number by 2.

They are an incredible organization that helps sanctioning bodies develop safety standards for various products. We are currently working on developing a standard for LP injection systems so we can eliminate or try to reduce the amount of head gasket failures that occur.

What folks don't know is that Carl Olson of the SFI Foundation has 25 years experience with NHRA and helps newby organizations with all aspects of the business. SFI has taken the DHRA under their wing, gone out of their way and helped us learn a tremendous amount about the motorsports industry.
