A previous and very long thread dealt with a shake coming from the rear of the truck. Turned out to be the rear brake drums were out of balance. Fix was to get NAPA premium drums which were obviously balanced because they had balancing weights attached.
So, I have the same shake and am pretty sure it is caused by the same out of balance brake drums. I went to NAPA and bought the PREMIUM brake drums. Got them home, opened them up, no balancing weights on either drum. They also have "made in china" boldly printed on the box.
My question now is are they really balanced? Is it possible to cast a drum and machine it to tolerance and expect it to be balanced without additional weight?
Your thoughts and suggestions appreciated.
