Thank You DEO, for talking me through this and giving me a different perspective. THANK YOU, LORD, for providing the help to get this running again. Now to get all the other loose ends tied up. Dave, I went with the KISS principle. Had to rethink as DEO pointed out. All I did was replace the fuel filter, It needed it. This was on my list of maintainence items anyway. The real problem was that I ran out of fuel! I dont know why. There was 7 or 8 gallons of fuel in the tank when I started this job. Anyway, I was caught off guard and was thinking worse case. I will replace the lift pump at another time. Maybe when I drop the fuel tank and repair the fuel gage sending unit? Right now, the next maintainence item to be tackled after the loose ends (Speedometer sending unit and leaking rear t-case seal) is the exhaust system replacement. That is on the to do list for 2008. No Start Again!!!!

Tried to start it today and no go! Blead out the injectors again and still no start. It started, on Saturday, after close to a full hour on the battery charger AND the final bleeding process. The charger shows the battery at 70% after only a few tries at starting. The battery voltage is @ 12. 5V. I am thinking; #1. The Voltage regulator is not working and/or #2. I have an electrical short that drains the battery. #3. a bad alternator. #4. A wore out battery (Die Hard Commercial). #5. Worse case is all of the above!!! Thats funny cause it started fine at my shop after sitting for almost 2 months! We are still not going to Cummins, as yet. I WILL get this figured out, With the LORDS HELP! GregH

Electrical short

I definitely have a short somewhere. PToombs recommended I check the alternator. See "Electrical Schematics" thread for the process and findings so far. GregH

Electrical issues solved

First I want to thank you all for allowing me to post here. Thanks all for helping me through this maintainence nightmare. I took the truck to D&D Auto Electric 10920 W. 44th Avenue Wheatridge, Colorado 80033. Doug did a WONDERMENT on this electrical mess. Removed and refurbished the engine wiring harness, cleaned all terminals, replaced corroded components. Cheched entire electrical system, "Stem to Stern"! Replaced a fuseable link in the wiring harness at the left fender, pulled the dash gauge cluster and message center, cleaned and checked all connections and replaced bulbs. However the speedometer still would not work. He replaced the sending unit and still no speedometer/odometer. I picked up a used unit at Denver Used Truck Parts for $70. 00. He installed it and everything that is supposed to work, DOES. I cant say enough about how much Doug helped me in this area. Of all the historical electrical problems and fixes, Doug has been the most thorough electrical technician I have ever had the priviledge to deal with. His phone # is 303-423-6522, if you get stuck in the Denver area with electrical issues.

"OLD UGLY" is ALIVE and WELL! This will be my last post until I can renew:{. Medical costs and other unforseen expenses have caused me to prioritize expenditures. However, I will be posting elsewhere. I plan on renewing later but dont know the time frame. I wish you all Good Health, Long life. Jesus Loves you!Oo. GregH

Do you know what the problem was, or was it multiple issues? Glad to hear your up and running. Would imagine you need her to move your housewares to the new pad?

Adios
