Has anyone had problems with a badly vibrating dash on rough roads? Mine really gets going on some of these "Freeways" we have here in northern Calif. Is this common or do I need to start tearing the dash out to see if something is loose?

It depends on how badly your dash is vibrating. Thats one of the first thing I noticed while I was test driving mine. You may want to check that there's not just a bunch of junk in the glove box and loose change in the ashtray rattling around! That was half the noise that was in my dash! Our trucks are definitely rough riders though, it wouldn't hurt to see what nuts and bolts and screws you can find to tighten in your dash.

As someone awhile back said about a rattling transfer case lever or the like "how can you tell that noise from the rest of the rackett the truck makes".

I know when I'm on a washboard road the dash shaking can get quite fierce.

Glad to hear that my problem isn't just with my truck! I have a 3 gauge set that sits on the dash and when it gets going,I place my hand on the gauges to keep them from jumping off the dash. I'm afraid the vibration is going to destroy the gauges!

I guess I'll have to see if I can find any loose nuts without pulling the thing completly apart.

Thanks Guys

Getting to the bolts on the passenger side isn't too bad. Just take out the glove box. On the driver's side the dash needs to come out. Which is more tedious than hard. 5 screws in the top, 1 just about the radio, and the rest are clips that pull out. I pull it out from the top after removing the light and then unplug the 4x4 light and info console. Just remember to lower the steering column by loosening the two nuts under the dash and it will come out pretty easily. Behind that is the gauges and A/C ducting. To stop the dash from rattling on the instrument cluster, I used small pieces of double sided adhesive. I'm still chasing down rattles of my own. I can't stand them.
