2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Sharp bang in rear end ?

This is my first post so please bare with me . I have a 3/4 4x4 an i have this sharp banging noise in the rear of my truck when i hit any sharp bumps in the road or going over speed bumps. It only happens when i hit sharp bumps it doesn't do it on slight bumps or slight dips or the sort. This is what i have tried to figure it out, I changed the left rear overload spring cause i only hade about a 1/4 of an inch of clearance between it an the stop. (didn't help) I've loaded it up so the box sits down on all the stops for the overloads an still bangs. I've tightened all the bolts for my box an bolts to the bumper. I took my spare tire off to. I've tried everything i can think of to fix this problem to no avail. And i can't get it to do it just sitting an jumping on the bumper to get movement back there it has to be a sharp quick bump. I took it to the dodge dealer here an they heard it an told me it's functional so they won't try to do anything about it. Anyone have any problems like this? Sure could use some input here. How do the leaf spring bushings look?

I changed the left side leaf spring cause i only hade about a 1/4 inch of clearance but the sound is still there. Ive read alot of post on this an nobody has semm to find a fix for this. Ive checked everything i can think of from the pads between the box an frame to the spare tire. totally stumped

Something else i noticed is that the new leaf spring has a rubber boot between the bottom to leafs. But the one on the other side that i didn't change doesn't have this boot.

Like he said. Take a close look at the shock bolts. Maybe take them off and see if they are any good. Once they extend tho, they are a bugger to compress... If they are any good that is. I replaced all 4 of my shocks with Bilstein OEM replacement at about $60 apiece. They are much better than the Monroes I replaced.

Ya it isn't the shocks they are brand new bilstiens i checked them already but thanks.

I think what i'm going to do next is take the bump stops off an see what i get. if that's it maybe invest in some air bags.

I'll take a shot in the dark... . This probably sounds dumb, but do you have a hitch? I leave my pintle/ball combo in all the time and it makes a bit of a bang on speed bumps and pot holes and such. Like I said, dumb but hey you never know... :-laf

Hey i always say the only stupid question is the one you don't ask ! No it's not my hitch either i always take my ball out or it won't be there the next morning. This sound like so many people have described, sounds just like the box lifting up an smacking the frame but i've checked an the frame bolts an dampeners between the box an frame an their all fine.

If you have one have you checked your anti-sway bar links? I had a very loud banging in the rear and after looking at a bunch of stuff saw that one of the sway bar end links was completely blown out and the link was disconnected from the bar (causing it to clunk against the bar with suspension movement - didn't happen all the time). I must have been under the truck 20 times before I saw it.

I looked at the sway-bar an the rubber insided the link is cracked some but everything is intact.
