where is the cheapest place to order a ring an pinion set? my truck takes dana m70 3. 55 this is for the rear. is a dana 70 3. 54 the same thing? this is what i have been finding online. dealer wants 860. 00 but some online shops has them for 200. 00 to 250. 00. i dont care about the quality cause im gettin rid of the truck

A second on Randy's and Reider. Reider has usually been less expensive in my experience and they are a reputable outfit to deal with.



Depending on exactly how it failed, you will need carrier bearings, pinion bearings and seals. If there are ANY metal pieces/parts/shavings floating around in the housing, you'll have to thoroughly clean the housing, hub to hub. If you don't, failure of the new gear set will happen pretty quickly even with a good print on the gear set-up. If you have a factory limited slip that is sort of tired, now is the time to rebuild it as you'll have the differential case on the bench anyway.



If you don't want to tackle the job or are unsure how to set-up gears, make sure you find a quality shop to do the work. Getting this task done CORRECTLY is critical. You'll be $$ ahead, -even if you're going to sell it.
