Over the last two days I have shaved the front of the gray plastic grille to remove the big chrome ram emblem. It actually was a very easy process (with the help of a auto body man who is a member of my club) involving fiberglass and a finishing flexible puddy. By no means am I an expert and other autobody professionals would probably laugh at my so called work, but I have the time now to try little projects on my own. My member was there for guidance to make sure I was going in the right direction. You know what they say measure 3 times and cut once... I have included some pictures of the process so far. I just dropped it off to my friends shop and he is going to be painting it on Monday or Tuesday next week. The products I used to shave the emblem hole were bought at a high end auto parts store that services auto body shops in the area. I used a product called Fiber Tech made by Evercoat. It is a reinforced repair compound filler (pretty much fiberglass in a bottle). I also used a product called flexible finishing puddy in the imperfections of the fiberglass to make it smooth and ready for paint. Once I get it back from the painter and mounted on my truck I will post those pictures. Here are some pictures during the process of shaving the emblem.
