I am about to get a shaved door solenoid kit. I am interested in any information you may have on the project. Will a 40# solenoid work with our door locks? Will 50# door poppers open the doors properly? Any other suggestions on the brand of kit or special problems to avoid. Later this year or early next I will do a Lambo door hinge kit on the doors.

Thanks

Bruce

sounds cool just be careful-here in NC they outlawed shaved doors- for emergency reasons. They said it was too hard to open the doors in case of a accident. Usually they take the jaws of life and pinch the door handle and that clips the rods of pulls them and takes any pressure off the door so it will open and they can extract any injured people out of the vehicle. In the case of a shaved door it was real hard to open and there must have been a case where they didn't get someone out in time...

so they are pretty adamant about it here at least.

Yes, it is the same in Canada. If you have shaved door handles, you need an obvious way of opening it from the outside incase of accident! If your insurance company finds out you have shaved door handles in a state that doesn't allow it, your truck will be uninsurable. Every state and province has different laws regulating body modifications like this.
