Fleetguard Bypass Filter

Engine Oil Preference

I use it and find it quite sufficient. Its ethylene glycol based and should prove to be safe for the Chrysler radiator, heater core and the Cummins Engine. After one year... mine looks like the day I put it in.

Iceman,

I think that the Shell is the same as the Caterpillar antifreeze/coolant that I use in my trucks. I chose Caterpillar because it was easy to get in Cincinnati and the Cat dealer carried the extender.

I don't think you'll go wrong with the Rotella.

Did you buy the extender, or were you going to wait until you got your first 300,000 miles? Does the dealer who carries the antifreeze also carry the extender? If not, the Caterpillar extender MAY work.

Good luck,

Loren

with only 250 k on the old truck in ten years i figured i'd wait to get the extender for it. and as much as i drive the '01 my kids grandkids will probably be the ones to need the extender for that truck:rolleyes:

cummins approval is on the bottle.

both trucks were due to be flushed and refilled so i decided to go with the extended life coolant. i have seen the 600,000 mile fluid in other brand names but always passed it up due the high cost.

the rotella was very reasonable to me ,,(might of had something to do with my buddy letting me use his business account though):D

thanks again john !!!
