Shift cable

Has anyone ever adjusted this type of shift cable?

Sorry to ask, my truck has the comfort access option, will not allow me to shift to neutral. The bracket in the transmission is keyed so it will only go on one way. So how does one make sure it will start in neutral?

I'm not sure what the "comfort access option" is. Mine has pushbutton start. To start in neutral, I have to push the button twice (Acc is first, then RUN) with my foot not on the brake to put it into Run (not start). Then I put my foot on the brake, shift to Neutral, and, finally, press the button to start to start the engine. Needless to say, I don't do this on a regular basis. Never, actually, except to try it out for this post.

Badunit thanks for the response!! I just tried what works for you, did not work for me still will not unlock; will try tomorrow. For me as soon as the brake is depressed the truck will start, the cable install seems pretty straight forward !!
