I tried searching and if you can suggest search terms I'll try again.

I have an 06 with the 48RE. I have started noticing that if I accelerate slowly (keeping around 1200-1300rpm) the shift between 1st and 2nd is erratic. It lurches and finally shifts. Much more prounounced with a load.

I had read a thread a long time ago about some issue with the torque converter and zone of indecision for lack of a better term in the lower rpm range.

Is this normal? Took it in to the dealer because I'm almost out of warranty but they basically said there were no codes so what I really needed to was to do a transmission service. I am going to do that because it's time but I really don't feel that's it.

Sounds like the 1-2 hunt problem and it is an issue under light throttle. There is a TSB that essentially replaces the governor solenoid and pressure sensor that works for some. If you have a dealer do it be prepared to pay 2X for the parts. Start with that and a trans service and see what happens.

Does anyone happen to know the TSB number by chance? It's still under warranty so I might just pay them for the transmission service and then get them to work the TSB.

Warranty will be out soon so I'd like to get this fixed if possible before it runs out.

Wow this site has a listing of TSB's..... Only took me a year and a half to stumble up on it. :-laf

In case anyone needs it:

21-009-07 All 48RE Transmission – 1-2 shift hunt at light throttle.

The customer may experience a 1-2 shift transmission hunt during light throttle application. This condition may be due to a governor pressure solenoid valve. This bulletin involves the replacement of the governor pressure solenoid valve in the transmission valve body.
