Thinking about doing a shift kit what's the best? I have already gutted the drain back valve and installed a temp gauge in the hot line.

I'm thinking about GM solenoid and transducer as well have 83,500 mile on her now and need her to last. no sled pulling or hot dogging going on, just all around pulling farm equipment or play toy's (buggy's or boat).

A lot of people like the superior shift kit. Its a little less involved than the transgo kit.

DTT also sells their shift kit in DIY form for about 2x the cost of the superior kit. Ive never seen a direct comparo of the two however. While you are doing it... might as well do a few other internal goodies like the band strut anchor and such.

Here... this recent thread has a lot of info:

Suncoast makes a valvebody with billet soleniods and transducers that works great! also comes with billet bridge for the bands and will turn your truck into very positive non heat building shifting truck. you will love it!

Is it the same price as everyone elses valvebodies? Most people seem to have a hard time spending ~4-500$ on VB when they can get a shift kit for <100$.

Im mainly curious because Ive never used suncoast parts... if they sell the VB's reasonably, Ill start putting those in instead of shift kits.

Figured as much. Did some research... their VB's are more $$ than the others Ive bought. So I was thinking maybe they sell their version of a shift kit (like DTT does), but all they sell is either a transgo kit... or their VB.

As Cerb said... youare paying for their knowledge and their solenoids and transducers i know are not stock. I have talked to them about them before but cant remeber where they are having them built but they are superior to any others especially mopar... . the valvebody is amazing and the extra parts it comes with makes it even better, there are no aftermarket shift kits that i have tried or road in that compare, well. . except turbo actions manual valvebody i have in my 68 roadrunner...

I put the transgo in mine and the transmission didn't last much longer after that... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... . I ended up going with a Goerend valve body afterwards and it was great, still running good.
