Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Shift Kit in 95 AOD?

After I got the truck tunned up my diesel mechanic said he could install a shift kit in my trans. that would make it shift at a lower RPM (2100 instead of 2700 rpm at WOT). Any input on shift kits.

I would like to tow alot more often and if this would be a good thing to do I will do it.
