Shift Kits

I would like my truck to shift harder. It has 4:10 Gears, 4WD, it's an '04. 5 HO Engine. Any ideas?

1) Step one, drain all ATF from trans.



2) Test Drive to verify trans shifts hard :-laf

can be done but your better off using a vb from someone. I can say the georend bros vb shifts nicely.

What is a 'vb' and what is 'NADP'? I'm not in the know on these items. Thanks for trying to give me advice, I'm just not familiar with the terminology.

I hear '07 is coming out with the Allison, maybe I'll just wait.

If you want your transmission to shift "harder", then you will have to spend some $$ to get it upgraded. You can check some of the dealers under "Site Features", 'Links', 'Transmission Parts'.

Allison is used by G. M. not by D. C. Two new autos supposly coming but not a Allison.

like stated the 2 new trannys coming are an aisin 6 spd for the chassis cab trucks, and the 68 from dc for the standard trucks. to have a nice shift does not take $$, just know what your doing and it can be done cheap. if your putting down big numbers you will need to spend to make it last. stock trans with a home built v-b in truck putting down 475 hp has 135,000 miles on her and it is a 47re. the tc is junk and a new one would help put the torque down better. but its going to go till it pukes first, still waiting on that .
