Shift Light-Anybody done it?

I want a shift light in my 98 12v. Has anybody done such a thing? How do you get rpm signal?

Mine has one, but it has never worked. Every now and then, it'll come on when I start the truck. Personally I'm really glad it doesn't work. After having a few other vehicles with them I found them annoying and a distraction.

I believe he's looking for a different kind of shift light TPC. You are talking about a factory shift light that tells you when to shift to the next gear under all conditions. He's most likely talking about a shift light that lights up at a set RPM - for racing purposes.
