2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Shift light

When I turn the key on the shift light aluminates . Is this normal or has somebody replaced the cluster with a different one from a gas ?

That's true and it does say diesel only. The light doesn't work it just comes on with the key at startup

I had my 1998 12v 5spd truck from March of 99 until April of 2007 and put 296k on it and that light NEVER lit while driving.It only came on when you first turned the switch on to start the truck and I never figured out how to even get it to work....

I didn't know there was a shift light, never had one on mine. 01 24 valve.

Gotta be a 5 spd thing. Knew a guy yrs ago with an nv4500 and truck had that light. My old auto and now this 6 spd do not have that light.

I never had one on my 94. Always thought it would be nice for when the girlfriend was learning how to drive...

Mine doesn't actualty work it just light when the gauges test when uiu first hit the key

In the 2 years i spent working at a Diesel shop (anything Diesel), where 95% of the work was on '90 - '03 Ford, Dodge and GM, I NEVER saw one of those lights in the dash. We're talking 600 Dodge pickups at least.

I've never ever seen ome the operations manual shows it on the picture that shows the gauge cluster but it doesn't describe it in the info in the manual maybe it was a cool idea that we decidd not to use?
