Shift-on-the-fly 4wd

I like the electric becasue it's so much easier to engage and disengage that you never have to take your eyes off the road. You can just rach down without looking and twist the knob one way or the other and the system engages / disemgages as soon as condition permit it. I find it much easier, quicker, and therfore safer.



I know in my '96 Ram with the manual shift there were times when I had to fight the stick a little with one hand and drive with the other, I let the electric motor do the wrestling now!

I went with the manual lever. Mainly because the electric shift is new to Dodge and I wasn't sure how good it would work. I hadn't heard of any problems though. Just like what most of you are reporting so that's good. Also don't really like where they put the dial because I wanted the cubby hole. I'm just glad that there are no manual hubs. I HATE manual hubs.

I have a dislike for the manual hubs as well. It always seemed that getting out into the storm or mud to twist those hubs with a pair of Channel Locks was not fun. I have not had the hubs for 10 years and don't miss them. I have not had a lever to shift into 4wd for 2 winters now and I do not miss that either .
